The Saint Paul Public Schools Foundation is pleased to announce awards totaling $185,000 to the following Travelers Academic Intervention Grant awardees for 2011:
- Athletes Committed to Educating Students (ACES)
- Breakthrough Saint Paul (through Mounds Park Academy)
- Building Blocks Tutorial (through Cherokee Park United Church)
- East Side Learning Center (School Sisters of Notre Dame)
- Friends of the Saint Paul Public Libraries – Homework Help, Read To Me, Read To Achieve
- Hmong Youth Pride (through Hmong American Partnership)
- Project SPIRIT & Freedom School (through Saint Paul Area Council of Churches)
- Twin Cities Housing Development Corporation (at Liberty Plaza)
- West 7th Community Center
Academic Intervention Grants are targeted to community-based organizations that provide high-quality, intentional academic interventions to students in Saint Paul Public Schools. The Foundation selects programs who want to work on organizational capacity building including:
- Implementation of research-informed academic interventions
- Alignment with SPPS curriculum and instruction
- Evaluation of impact (e.g., impact of tutoring interventions on student achievement)
